New Year = New Hair Cut

We finally did it. We cut Bronson's Hair for the first time!! Spencer's brothers kept saying he looked like Albert Einstein with his hair crazy all time. But he's my baby and I loved the curls in the back so I kept putting off cutting it. However, since today is the first day of 2012, I thought it would be the perfect start to the New Year.

Bronson hated getting it cut, he cried and fought Spencer the whole time.

Good Ole' Ethan. We have found that he has a very qwirky personality, thats all his own :)

You're probably wondering what he's doing in these pictures. Well, he puts his shirt over his head and goes around saying " I a hot dog, I a hot dog"

I'm not sure where he got this from but it's pretty hilarious!!

And this is where he INSISTED that he put these packaging stickers on his face and then continued to where them for half the day until they fell off and weren't sticky anymore.

Ethan LOVES cars. He loves to watch cars, read about cars, play cars and especially pretend he's a car!! Before he'll go anywhere, even if its just to the next room, he's got to sit and rev up his engine and he waits for me to say "Ready, Set, Go" before races off to his destination.

The Big Apple

Our first ever trip to the Big Apple!!

Unfortunately it all started off as a big disaster :) Here's how it all began. We got up early since we had to be at the airport by 7am. I go downstairs to look for a book to take with me to the airport and I notice there is a funny smell and as I'm looking for the source of the smell I find mold on the carpet and the bookshelf in the corner of the room. So I hurry and get Spencer so he can look at it, and what does he do, he starts ripping down the sheet rock, 10 minutes before we're supposed to leave!! AAAHHHH!! Well he can't find where the water is coming from, so he calls his dad and the neighbor who's a contractor at 6 in the morning to come take a look while we're gone.

Then the shuttle comes to pick us up to take us to the airport and they only bring a small mini-van and there's 8 of us, so obviously that didn't work out for us either and we had to hurry and call our other neighbor to take a few of us to the airport. Then we get to the airport and Spencer left our back pack in the neighbor's van which had all our tickets and apt. info in it. Luckily, we were able to call him on his cell and he hurried back to the airport!!

The entire morning we were rushing and stressing because we were afraid of being late for our flight, and what happens next, our flight gets delayed for 4 hours and then cancelled. So they try and put us on another flight but no other flight has room for all 8 of us. So, we end up having to split up and take two different flights to NYC.

By the time we fly into New York, all I can think is "Wow, what a day!!"

Luckily, The trip got a whole better,

We had a great apartment which was only 2 blocks from Times Square, we learned the ins & outs of the Subway system, we saw a Broadway Show "Wicked" (which, surprisingly, was Spencer's favorite activity in NY!!), we ate a real chinese meal in a sketchy basement restaurant in China Town and it was Delish!! and we got to see and do sooooo much more.

The first day in New York we went downtown to see the 9/11 Memorial. It was a lot bigger than I thought. This is a picture of one of two of the fountains they made. They are in the exact spot where the twin towers stood. There's names engraved all around both fountains of the people who died on 9/11. It's very cool to see.

The first day in NY it rained ALOT!! So after getting completely soaked at the 9/11 memorial we tried to stay inside as much as possible because we were wet and cold. So we went to the famous toy store FAO Schwarz. Tamra and Kurt danced on the giant piano. And we got see life size LEGO creations, here's the boys with Indiana Jones.

It was a wonderful trip and we saw some amazing things and made some awesome memories.

I can't believe our Baby is 1 year old already, he's grown up so fast. Bronson or Bronster, as Spencer likes to call him, is now 23 lbs and 30 inches tall. He feels more like 40 lbs when I'm carrying him around. He's a little chunk!! Probably because he LOVES to eat, everything, he out eats both of his brothers. He isn't walking yet, just speed crawling everywhere :) He's got 4 little teeth, 2 bottom and 2 top and when he smiles it's so darn cute!! Bronson loves to play with his two brothers, he also loves to cuddle and take naps.

Happy Halloween

Halloween was exciting this year and a lot busier than the past years. Probably because Eli had a Halloween parade and party at school on top of everything else we do: pumpkin carving, trunk-or-treat at Grandma's church and the neighborhood trick-or-treat. For his school parade, they have all the parents sit in the gym and class by class the kids wind their way thru the gym and then go back to their classes for their Halloween Parties. I got to help in Eli's class party. That was exciting and chaotic all at the same time, 20 kindergartners all dressed up and full of sugar. Eli had lots of fun though, playing games and sharing treats with his friends.

This year Ethan was super excited about going out trick-or-treating, because everyone knows how much he loves candy!!! He kept trying to open every piece of candy as soon as people would give it to him!!!

This year Eli dressed up as Captain America, Ethan was the BumbleBee and Bronson was a furry blue monster - the Bronster :)

We grew pumpkins in our garden this year and they did really well, we ended up with 6 good size pumpkins by the end of the season.

This is Eli's pumpkin, but like every year Eli loses interest quickly, and Spencer ends up doing it all, thanks honey, it looks great :)

Birthday Boys

Ok, so I know the boys' birthdays were 3 months ago, and I'm just now getting around to posting about it, LAME, huh? Well, life with 3 little boys is crazy!!!

We had the boys' traditional birthday party, pinata and all. Spencer was disappointed that we didn't get to do the slip-n-slide this year, but hopefully next year. At least we had the pinata, which is always the boys' favorite part anyway, what boy doesn't like to hit things and then gobble up tons of candy!!

Ethan did his best, trying to hit the pinata, but it's kinda hard when the bat is as big as he is!!

Eli had a little harder time since he had to wear a blindfold, he got hit in the head a few times with the pinata - thanks to his dad.

Oregon 2011

Last month, I got to take a little mini vacation and go up to Oregon to visit my family for a few days. It was just me and Ethan!!!

We stayed a few days with my grandparents and got to spend time with my aunts, uncles and cousins. Then we went to the coast for one night. It was the first time that Ethan had been to the beach. At first he wasn't too thrilled about walking thru the creek to get to the beach and then getting sand on his hands wasn't any better !! We stood at the edge of the surf but he didn't even want to get near it, the water was freezing and he didn't like that the water kept trying to get him!!!

He discovered he could throw rocks into the creek and it made a cool splash. He had to show me all of his rocks before he threw them in.

Grandma and Grandpa Wetzel came to the beach with us too!! They wanted to come eat lunch at Moe's - who could blame them, the chowder is amazing!!!

Thank you to my family for the wonderful weekend. We had a great time and Ethan loved being spoiled rotten!!!! Love ya

Summer has begun

You know its summer when you're having to hose your kids off every night before they come in the house!!!

Here's the boys making a swimming pool in the neighbors sandbox, it was a mess, but it kept them occupied for HOURS, it was so great!!

After we got Ethan all cleaned up he totally crashed on the chair. It's so hilarious to see that he sleeps just like his dad with his arms behind his head. Like father, like son!!!

Bronson- 8 mths

Our little man is almost 8 months old, the time goes by so fast, it seems like we just brought him home.

He has started to drool everywhere and chew on everything while his teeth come in. He's also been sitting up and playing with his toys like one of the big boys, Ethan gets so mad when Bronson chews on his cars while he's trying to line them up!! Bronson's not very excited about food yet, the only thing he will eat without gagging on is applesauce, so I guess thats a start.

His brothers have become more interested in him and want to interact with him more and they're awesome with him - he's loving all the extra attenion. Ethan is constantly wanting to give him hugs and give Bronson the toys that he doesn't want to play with.

Since the weather's been nice, he's been enjoying alot of outside time, which you can probably tell from the pictures. We're looking forward to a great summer :)

A Day out with Thomas

Last month we took the boys over to Heber to see Thomas the Train. It was a great hit, they loved it, especially Ethan, who is going thru a train/car phase at the moment. During the train ride, the Thomas theme song was playing in the background and Ethan kept saying choo choo and acting like he was pulling the whistle the whole time.

Unfortunately, my camera died half way thru our day so I never got a picture of Thomas the engine, but he looked just like he does in the cartoon and as soon as the boys saw him they both went crazy.

There were lots of activities to do after the train ride too. The boys got to play with all the toy trains that they had set up, they got to play with giant bubble makers and mini golf and they also got Thomas the Train temporary tattoo's. It was a great day and even more special because Spencer took off work to come with us too!!! Good times :)

Eli's Preschool Graduation

Eli graduated from preschool, and his little class put on a cute program for all the parents where they sang all the songs they learned through out the school year. Eli had such a great year, he learned a ton and made a bunch of new friends. I know he will do great in Kindergarten!!!

He was so sick of me taking pictures of him and he didn't want to wear his hat in front of a bunch of strangers - so I got THE look!!

This is Eli's cute little Preschool teacher, Ms. Jennifer, she was so great!! She said a little something about each child when she gave them their graduation certificate and she told us how Eli was such a little teaser and jokester and loved to steal her chair when she wasn't sitting in it and announce that he was the new teacher - little stinker!!!

Congrats Eli, we're looking forward to many more great school years with you, our Mr. Smarty Pants, Love ya

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

My parents came down from Oregon to visit for a few days, they really wanted to see Eli play in a soccer game. Luckily, it was probably the only nice week that we've had ALL year!! No rain, not even clouds in the sky, it was great. We got to go out and do some fun activities. First we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. I've never been to the gardens, but it was really beautiful, and I got some great pics of the boys!!!

They had every type of tulip you could think of but this was by far my favorite, I've never seen anything like it, cool huh??

We also went to Kennecott Copper Mine. Everyone loved that, especially Ethan who wanted the trucks soooo bad!!! He kept pointing at the trucks when we were outside looking at the mine and then when we went inside the visitors center he was using all his strength to try and push open the display cases (which don't open) to try and get the model trucks and tractors out. Poor boy, he was so frustrated!!!

This is one of the tires that go to the massive trucks they use in the mine, WOW!!

A big thank you to my great dad who fixed our fence that broke in the wind storm the week before. I don't know what we'd do without you. Love you :)

Bronson - 6 mths old

I can't believe my little baby boy is already 6 months old!!!

He is a wonderful baby, and his darling smile melts my heart everyday :)

He continues to grow like a weed, 18 lbs and 27" tall. He loves to roll over and jump around in his bouncer. It's only a matter of time before he's crawling around chasing after his big brothers. Bronson loves to take baths and splash, splash, splash!!! Which means I'm completely soaked by the time he's done. He also loves to suck his thumb- my other boys never did this. You'd think Bronson was teething the way he puts everything in his mouth and naws on it, but no teeth yet. He has been sleeping through the night for a few months now and that has been fabulous. He loves his brothers and lights up everytime he sees his daddy. Bronson has been the perfect addition to our family, we love him tons!!!

Easter 2011

It was an exciting Easter this year!! It's the first year that Ethan understood what to do at the easter egg hunt, and Eli was constantly asking how many days till the Easter Bunny came. The easter egg hunt was at grandma's house with all the cousins and the boys had a grand ole' time. Eli was running around as fast as he could trying to get as much candy as his basket would hold and he did a pretty good job, his basket was filled to the brim by the time he finished. Then there's Ethan who wanted to stop and try to open every piece of candy that he found, good thing he had his aunt Sara helping him out.

On Easter morning, Ethan woke up first and he went about his morning demanding breakfast as soon as he was out of bed, just like usual. Only after his belly was full did he notice the easter basket sitting out. He instantly knew which one was his or at least which one he wanted, because it had a package of HotWheels cars in it - he loves cars!!! He was so excited, he started doing a little dance and couldn't wait to get the package open. He didn't even care about the candy in the basket which is saying alot for our little sugar tooth :)

When Eli finally rolled out of bed the first thing he said was "Did the Easter Bunny come?" Since Eli's older, the Easter Bunny hides his basket, he had a little trouble finding it but when he finally did, he had to dump it out so he could see it all and pick out what he liked best- the candy!!!

Ethan got a little side-tracked at the end when he found the soccer ball in the yard. Just like his dad!!!

Bronson - 4 Months

Our Baby Bronson is 4 Months old now. He has has changed so much in that short time period. He's gained alot of weight and is now just as chubby as his brothers were, he has the cutest little buddah belly :)

He weighs 15 lbs, which puts him in the 75% for his age and he's 26" which is 90%. Bronson is loving his swing and he's learning how to reach and grab on to his toys.

He also loves when anybody talks to him, he just gives the biggest smiles-I love it!!

A Taste of Spring

Last week we had some great weather, it felt like spring out, of course it was just a tease because it proceeded to snow the next two days, but we made the most out of our one nice day. The boys were sooo excited to be outside!!

While I was watching Eli ride his scooter around the circle, Ethan was being the little busy body he is and was digging thru the garage and found Eli's old helmet, which he insisted on wearing while he scooted around on the big wheel tricyle. The helmet kept slipping off the top of his head and into his face-I don't even know how he could see where he was going.

Ethan decided he was done and it would just be easier to walk home :)

Hopefully Spring will come again soon!!!

Bronson's Blessing

The first part of January we blessed little Bronson - I can't believe thats been almost two months ago!! We had a great day. Spencer did a great job of blessing him and Grandma Charrisse made him an adorable blessing outfit. She also bought all the grandboys matching suits for Christmas, Eli and Ethan love to be able to dress up just like their daddy for Church :)

Super Sledding

This year between Christmas and New Years Spencer wasn't as busy as normal, so he had some extra time off- and he spoiled us!!! We went out to breakfast one morning, we got to go bowling and Sledding a couple of times and he did some handyman work around the house. It was Great!!!
Eli's favorite activity, by far, was the sledding. He loved it :) Grandma Norma bought him his own special sled- it's shaped like a penguin and its the perfect size for him. He was continually going down and straight back up as fast as he could. He loved to race his aunt and uncles down the hill and won most of the time. He never stopped the whole time we were there, which was a few hours. He didn't even cry when his uncle Troy ran smack into him at the bottom of the hill. He just popped up and told everyone he was fine and kept going - nothing was going to the stop him, he was like a sledding machine!!!

Christmas 2010

Our Christmas was really great. We had a lot of fun and the boys were so excited. Eli decided early on-like October, that he wanted every toy he saw in the Sunday Ads. He would go thru them every weekend and circle EVERYTHING!!! Then there was Ethan, he didn't really understand what was going on until we started opening presents Christmas morning and he found there were toys underneath all that pesky paper!!

This is our tree. Eli decorated it. He wouldn't put any ornaments near the bottom because he didn't want Ethan to be able to touch any of them, so all the ornaments are on the front side of the tree in big clumps!!

These are the PJ's Grandma Charrisse made the boys. They're all matching, sooooo adorable!!!!

I can't believe how hard it is to get a decent picture with all three boys !! If only they would sit still :)

Eli got these transforming IronMan and SpiderMan cars. He loves anything to do with SuperHeroes.

Annual Gingerbread House Extravaganza

Life seems to have finally calmed down from the holiday season, and I have a little bit of extra time to catch up on the blog. Good thing too, cause we have a lot of pictures!!

This year we had a suprise visitor during our gingerbread house construction. The kids had mixed feelings about his appearance. The older grandkids were super excited and the younger kids wished he would just leave his candy basket and disappear.

Ethan would not sit with Santa by himself so Kyle being the awesome uncle went with him. I love how Ethan is holding on to Kyle for dear life!!

He still wasn't happy even after he got his treat from Santa :)

On the way home, we put Eli in charge of holding the house so that it didn't slide around in the back of the truck. It's only a five minute drive from G&G's house to our house but Eli still fell asleep. He kept hold of our house and amazingly didn't get strangled by the seat belt!!

Spencer is very popular with his boys. They are always fighting over him, wanting his undivided attention, especially Ethan. He has become quite the little daddy's boy. Everytime Spencer leaves the house Ethan follows him to the door and then throws himself down screaming when he figures out he doesn't get to go too. And when Spence is home Ethan won't let me help him or hold him, all he wants is his dad!!

Baby Bronson

Baby Bronson is here!!

He was in a hurry to get here and arrived 3 weeks early.

He came Friday November 5. He is 6 lbs 12 oz & 19 inches long.

Yellowstone

Our first family trip to Yellowstone.

I have never been to the park and Spencer hadn't been since he was a boyscout so it was great to go and see everything Yellowstone had to offer- from the beautiful and diverse landscape to the big and wild animals.

We went with two other families and stayed in their cabin in nearby Island Park, ID. We got to spend two days hiking and seeing the sites. We saw lots of Buffalo and Elk, a few coyotes, wolves and eagles. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any bear or moose which is what I really wanted to see.

I couldn't believe how beautiful the area was, it had a little bit of everything from the geysers and thermal pools, rivers and waterfalls and forests and lakes-there was just so much to see, I couldn't believe it!!

One morning on our way into the park we got stopped for 20 minutes while 3 buffaloes roamed around the middle of the road. Eli got an upclose look and said "We're not scared of them." Crazy Boy!!

Eli hated the sulfur smell of the geysers and thermal pools and insisted on plugging his nose all the time

We quickly discovered that Ethan hated to be carried around unless he was in the hiking pack, otherwise he wanted to run around on his own, which I wasn't to keen about with all the boiling water next to the paths!!

While we were out on a hike we kept hearing an elk call every couple minutes, and it sounded close. When we were leaving that area we saw this big guy hidden in some trees right off the road- He's a beauty!!

We put Eli in Fall soccer this year and he had an awesome year. His team name was the Red Dragons.

Eli was so excited for every game and did really well. His dad gave him a little incentive at the beginning of the season to get him focused, Spencer told Eli if he scored 2 goals in one game then he would take him to McDonalds, and it worked!! Then Spencer upped the anti to 3 goals and he would take him to Artic Circle, and that worked too!! After that, Eli was so excited to score that he didn't need anymore incentives. He ended the season with 11 goals in 7 games. He scored 5 goals in 1 game. His coach called him a goal-scoring machine. His skill level improved so much in 1 year-we're already looking forward to next season

Spencer's Soccer Season just ended too. His team did awesome, they finished second in there division. And this year Spencer decided to play on an indoor soccer team in the off season, so that is keeping him busy along with work and church service. Unfortunately, we don't get to go watch his indoor games because they're too late at night and the boys are already in bed, but that doesn't stop Eli from begging everyweek to go watch.

Ethan's 1st Hair Cut

We finally decided to cut Ethan's lovely locks.

His hair was getting so shaggy. He had some great curls in the back but he was continually getting food in it-which was a pain to clean up all the time.

Before Spencer started to cut it, I assumed Ethan was going to throw a big fit and we'd have to hold him down. But it was the complete opposite, he did amazing (way better than Eli has ever done). He sat in his highchair and was laughing because the clippers were tickling him and he kept trying to pull on what hair he had left. Now that all his baby hair is gone he looks like such a big boy!!!

2010 County Fair

We went to the Salt Lake County Fair this year. Ethan loved seeing all the animals, Eli was scared of most of them. Even the 4-H sheep and pigs that were in pens he didn't want to get close to. We took him in the petting zoo, and he wouldn't get near anything that was bigger than him, the only animal he petted was this small black goat standing on a bench near the exit. He stood there and petted the goat for a minute and then thought it would be a good idea to take him home. He asked if we could take him with us and said the goat could live in the backyard-no way!! Though, it might have been a good idea, then Spencer wouldn't have had to worry about mowing the grass.

Eli's 1st Day of School

Eli was so excited to start preschool this year. For the first day of school his teacher wanted him to bring a few show-n-tell items that represent him, so he decided to take his most prized possessions- his soccer trophy, Disney Cars book, candy, and his mini photo album.

He loves everything about school-I hope this enthusiasm for learning continues for the rest of his life!!

Dinosaur Museum

My mom came down and visited for a few days and we took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point, it was the first time we'd been. We didn't get to see as much of it as I would have liked because Eli refused to stop and look at anything, he just wanted to go-go-go!!!! Good thing the girls were there to help chase him down cause I couldn't keep up with him :)

Timpanogos Cave

During the summer Tamra worked as a park ranger at Timpanogos Cave, so we went for a personally guided tour last month. The whole family went and had a grand ole' time. It is quite the hike (1 1/2 miles to the cave entrance with a 1000 ft increase in elevation along the way) I wasn't sure we were all going to make it to the top but WE DID IT!!

Eli and Ethan's birthday party was a big hit this year, we celebrated their birthdays together since their only two weeks apart-much easier on me :) We had our traditional pinata for Eli and of course we had to have some yummy cupcakes for Ethan-that was his favorite part of the night. Ethan didn't really like the pinata because everyone kept yelling and cheering and it was just too much noise for him.

This year, thanks to Ty and Aleisha, who gave Eli a slip-n-slide for his birthday, we also had some good laughs!!

Raging Waters

We went to Raging Waters last month. It was the first time I had ever been to the water park so I wasn't sure what to expect, but we all had a great time.
Spencer loved going down all the slides with his brothers. Their favorite slide was of course the biggest one, they all went down it and caught air in the middle of the slide and Troy almost ran into the end of the pool at the bottom of the slide-crazy boys!! We had a ton of "fun in the sun".

Oregon 2010

Since Spencer had youth conference and scout camp back to back I decided to take the boys on a little vacation up to Oregon. It was Ethans first trip up to see my family. His first plane ride too!! He did pretty well with it all, he didn't like being held on the plane but luckily its only a 2 hr flight and we gave him lots of snacks to keep him happy :)
The weather was beautiful and it was great to see everyone. We didn't do anything really exciting, just had a relaxing week and visited with family.

Uncle Shane runs the community pool in the small town where my parents live, so we got to go play in the pool in the off hours-its so great to have the whole pool to ourselves!! Of course, the boys both loved it. Ethan sat in the kiddie area and splashed most of the time.

Our boys are growing up sooo quickly. Eli is going to be starting Preschool this fall-he is so excited for school!! He had to bring his backpack and a show-n-tell along when we went and met with his teacher, He wasn't shy or nervous at all of course, he just went ahead and talked her ear off, telling her all kinds of random stories :)
Ethan is crawling around like a pro and is anxious to start walking, so he can keep up with Eli. Since the weather finally got nice, he has loved going outside and getting as dirty as possible-he's such a boy!

The weekend after we got home from Florida I left again, this time to San Fransisco for a fun girls getaway!!! I had never been to San Fran before and I found it to be a very diverse and interesting city and I think I would rename it the Windy City, the wind blew and blew the whole time we were there, my skin was so wind chapped by the time we got home.
We had a great weekend of shopping, yummy food and good times but the main item on the agenda- "WICKED" The play was so so amazing, I wish I could see it again, I keep trying to talk Spencer into going..........maybe someday.

I can't believe its been over 2 months since I last posted-I've got a lot of catch up to do!!!!

In May we took a week long vacation to Florida. Just Spencer and I & Aleisha and Ty-no kids :)
We had a great time and it was nice to be able to get away from our everyday lives for a short time. Especially for Spence, he's been working so hard, he really needed a vacation to recharge.
We spent most of our vacation in Disney World, "The Happiest place on Earth", it's soooo big and there's soooo much to see. Lots of Good Times!!!

Wow, it seems like forever since I've posted. Life just keeps getting busier and busier no matter what we try to do to slow it down. Well, last weekend was Easter and we had our traditional Easter Egg Hunt in Grandma Fuhrimans backyard with all the cousins. It was alot of fun and we were happy that we didn't have to search for eggs in the snow!!! It was still a little chilly but there was no stopping the kids when they saw there was candy in the yard :) We got to have a yummy lunch and talk with some family that we don't get to see as often as we'd like. The day was going great until Eli decided to eat one of his hardboiled eggs he had in his basket, what a mess!!! He took one bite of the egg and then threw-up all over the kitchen floor, I guess he won't be eating those again!!!

Can I just say that my baby boy is growing way too fast. Ethan is going to be 7 months old next week-that is so crazy. It felt like I just had him, time goes by soooo quickly these days. After his immunizations, circumcision surgery, his little bout of RSV and his ear infection ALL this last month, he is doing much better. He is starting to eat solids- not that he needs them, he's such a little chunk. He's on the move doing the army crawl everywhere he wants to go. We're still practicing on the sitting thing and he's getting pretty good at it but everytime he reaches for anything-down he goes!!
We've been so blessed, he's such a happy baby and he loves his big brother (most of the time) :)

5th Anniversary

For our 5th Anniversary we took a little weekend getaway down to Arches National Park with some friends. It was so great, it was the first time I had been there and it is soooo beautiful!!!! It happened to be snowing that weekend, which means we had to hike through the snow everywhere we went but it also meant that nobody else was there, we had the whole park to ourselves-it was fantastic!!!

Last Saturday was a special day, Spencer took the day off!! We took the boys to the Expo Center, where they were having a kids club day. There was all sorts of fun things to do. They had bounce houses, those were Eli's favorite, he probably spent about 3 hours jumping! He got to pet some farm animals and reptiles. He got to sit in a helicopter and get his face painted!! He was so sad when I told him we had to wash his face before church, he wanted to show all his little friends his amazing spidey moves :)

Last night Spencer had his mutual activity at our house. Ethan was already in bed so I told Eli he had to play in his room or downstairs, he couldn't play with the big boys (which is what he really wanted to do, he was so excited when he saw them all walking in the house) Well, when I told him that wasn't going to happen he got upset and went to his room and hid in his closet. When I went to check on him 15 minutes later this is what I found!

Spencer's Young Men were having a good time cookin' up donuts and being quite loud, so of course Ethan woke up. He got to stay up late and party with his Daddy!!

Grandma Norma and Grandpa Jim came to visit at the beginning of January. It was great to see them and spend some time together. Eli was sick so he was being grumpy most the time but we still had fun. Grandpa was amazed Ethan had gotten so big he hadn't seen him since he was 2 weeks old and now he's 5 months and a little chunker!!

Christmas Morning

Here is our Christmas morning.

Little Ethan was still asleep-he had a late night Christmas Eve, he kept waking up sporadically through out the night because he was congested and couldn't breath. Luckily, for us, Eli at least waited until the sun came up before he woke up. This was his first Christmas that he got really excited about. Eli wanted to open all the presents as soon as he saw them under the tree-even the ones that weren't his!! Eli definitely had a Cars Christmas. He has an obsession with the Disney movie CARS. Whenever I let him pick out a movie to watch, he always picks out CARS, he'll only play with cars if they're the characters from the movie, no matchbox, tonka or any other type of car. Spencer and I found some Cars on ebay and gave them to him for Christmas and now I think he might have almost all the characters from the movie-he was really excited!!

In this video Eli is continuing to open presents, including his dads one and only gift! It was a miracle that I was able to find something for Spencer, he is the hardest person to buy for. I just happened to be at Costco one day and Kyle Beckerman, from the Real Soccer Team, was there making an appearance and signing T-shirts. It was perfect-Spencer loves to go to the games and now he will have an autographed shirt to wear when he goes.

Eli Rockin Out

Instead of buying each other gifts for Christmas, Spencer and I get something that the whole family can use (Thank goodness, because Spencer is sooo hard to buy for!) and this year we got a video camera. We opened it up early so we could figure out how to use and charge the battery for Christmas morning.

It's been quite fun to catch Eli in action. He is a character and he keeps us laughing constantly.

In this video he is singing this rock song that his dad taught him, it's called "There ain't no rest for the wicked." Spencer and Eli are singing it and quoting it all the time. Enjoy!!

Gingerbread Houses

Every year we have a tradition-to build gingerbread houses. Luckily, it's not as competitive as the pumpkin carving, so Spencer and Ty don't get too out of control. They do try and think of new things to do every year. This year Spencer thought it would be great to melt chocolate chips and drizzle it down the roof and then blow powdered sugar all over it to make it look like fresh snow-what a mess!!! I think this is Eli's favorite activity because we have a ton of candy laying around and nobody notices him sneaking a piece every few minutes, I'm surprised he didn't get sick in the middle of the night from his sugar high!

Every family gets to build a house and take it home with them. Here's Spencer starting our house, he was our architect and builder. I supervised!

Every year Spencer wants to buy a fake tree but I refuse. I won't let him, growing up in Oregon, we always had the best fresh-cut trees and I just love having a real tree. You can't beat the smell of a fresh tree and it's so pretty.

We picked out our tree a little earlier than usual and unfortunately, our schedule, and life in general, seemed so crazy this holiday season that our tree sat undecorated for 2 weeks. I wanted to decorate it together as a family activity because usually I end up decorating it by myself and really what's the fun in that. Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love spending it with my family.

Our little Eli has become so so independant. He wants to do everything himself, his biggest wish is to be a big boy, like his uncles Troy and Kurt. He loves it when I let him do anything by himself. For example, when I drop him off at Preschool he wants to get out of the car and run up to the door himself, he always tells me, "Mom, you stay in the car." I keep telling him that I want him to stay little forever and his answer back is "but I want to be big". It's so sad to see him growing up so quickly. We do a preschool with 2 other girls in the neighborhood, it's been alot of fun and Eli enjoys it. We each take turns hosting and teaching the group, I love it, the hardest part is trying to get Eli to sit down and actually focus on the activities. Hopefully his attention span will improve with age.

Last month we put Eli into a tumbling class, he needed an activity to use up some of that excess energy, since his outside time is limited by the weather. He still loves to go out and play in the snow but he doesn't stay out very long before he comes in with purple hands complaining that he's freezing. He loves his tumbling class, he's learning to do handstands, somersaults, and flips. I think his favorite is the giant foam pit and slide!!

Eli has adjusted really well to being a big brother. Eli loves to hold and kiss on Ethan. (Doesn't Ethan look excited!! LOL!!) Usually Ethan loves when Eli will talk and play with him. Eli makes him laugh all the time, it's pretty cute to see how much they love each other.

Everyday Eli waits and waits for his Daddy to come home and play soccer with him. Here he is in his soccer outfit, cleats included. He loves to wear his cleats everywhere, friends houses, the grocery store, EVERYWHERE, I think he would wear them to bed if we would let him.

Whenever I tell Eli to smile for the camera, he turns his head to the side and does this cheesy smile.

Ethan's Blessing

We blessed Ethan the first Sunday in November. I know I'm a little behind with my postings but I'm trying to catch up. So I had to post some pictures of Ethan and his beautiful blessing outfit. Charrisse, of course, made his outfit. It turned out so good and he looks so cute in it. We had a great day, Spencer gave him a great blessing and Ethan didn't cry so that's always a plus.
We made sure and got some pictures of Ethan before Church. We learned that the hard way, with Eli's blessing day we were in such a hurry we thought, "Oh we'll get some pictures of him after church, no big deal" and that never happened because he had a blowout in the middle of the meeting and it got all over his blessing outfit! Sadly, we never got any pictures of Eli in his blessing outfit.
So, with Ethan we made sure and took lots of pictures right after we dressed him.

Ethan rolled over for the first time right before Thanksgiving. I wasn't even home, Spencer was home with the boys that weekend, I can't believe I missed it!! He rolled from his back to his tummy, then discovered he didn't like that much, so he doesn't do it too often, he would much rather roll from his tummy to his back. Doesn't like to lay on his tummy much. Here he is in action- just like a pro!! He's so darn CUTE!!!!

Trick-or-Treat

Trick-or-treating was fun this year. It's the first year Eli really got into it. He went out last year but he never said trick-or-treat and he didn't get super excited about the candy like he did this year. Eli wanted to be an M&M and it had to be the green one. As everyone knows the green M&M is the girl character which means we couldn't just buy the green M&M costume because all the green costumes had long eye lashes and sexy eyes- I didn't think that was appropriate for my little 3 year old boy. So with Charrisse's guidance I made his costume-not too hard. I think it turned out pretty cute and Eli really liked it.
First we went to a Trunk-or-Treat, Eli kept wanting to go back to all the cars that we had all ready been to-like he didn't get enough candy the first time around. Ethan is dressed as a little monkey. He wasn't too excited about the hood part being on his head and he fell asleep while Eli was making his rounds.

Halloween Party

Our annual Halloween party was great-as usual! Sterling made pizza, we carved our pumpkins, then we frosted sugar cookies and made caramel apples. We had 15 pumpkins and they all turned out really cute, we couldn't choose a winner for best pumpkin because they all looked so good.

Pumpkin Patch 2009

We went to pumpkin patch this last week, we wanted to go early this year to make sure we got a couple big pumpkins. Usually we wait till the last minute, like the day before we are going to carve them, and then there is nothing good left, only small or smashed up pumpkins. This year we got some great pumpkins. Eli could have cared less about picking out his pumpkin he just wanted to race around in the wheelbarrow and try and do some tricks. We're excited for annual family carving contest-pictures to be posted later. Have a Happy Halloween!

Our little Ethan is two months old already, I can't believe it. He is such a good natured little baby, we have really been blessed. He is getting better at sleeping at night and only wakes up once. He just loves it when people will sit and talk at him. He smiles and jabbers back. He smiles alot and it just melts my heart, he is so adorable, we love him so much!! He also loves to be cuddled, which is the total opposite of Eli, even when he was a baby he never liked to rocked or cuddled. So I am enjoying my short period of time that I have to love and cuddle him.

Summer Fun

It has been a crazy and busy summer for our family. Unfortunately, our adventerous activities were limited since I was pregnant with little Ethan. We had to wait till Ethan was born before we were able to go on our one and only family outing for the summer. We had been looking forward to our trip all summer. We went down to St. George to the Sand Hollow Resevoir. We got to go boating and play on the beach for two days, it was fabulous and a much needed break from our day to day life.

Soccer SuperStar

This fall we put Eli into a soccer league. He is such a sports-aholic I knew he would love it, and he did!! He was so excited at his first game and he got a real soccer uniform just like his daddy wears, he even got to choose his own number #3- because thats how old he is. Eli has so much energy that he would run, run, and then run some more. It is so cute watching the young kids play, they all run in a herd trying to get to the ball and their coach is on the field too trying to remind them which goal they're aiming for. Eli loved having his friends and family there watching him and cheering him on, he was constantly looking on the sideline as he was running by-making sure we were paying attention.

Ethan is 5 weeks old, I can't believe how fast time goes by. It feels like just yesterday that we were bringing him home. He is such a good natured and easy going little baby, it has made the transition to having two kids alot easier. Eli loves Ethan so much, he is a really good big brother. Eli is, surprisingly, gentle with Ethan when he is giving him loves. He loves to talk to his little brother and is constantly telling him to "Wake up!!". Right after we brought Ethan home from the hospital Eli kept telling us that he wanted to play with his brother, sadly, it will take some time before that happens.

This is the first night we brought Ethan home, Eli immediatley wanted to share his couch and his blanket with his little brother.

It's a boy!! We are so excited to welcome our new little one to the family. He was born Saturday August 8th. The delivery went really well and we are all doing great.

Ethan James Fuhriman. He weighs 7 lbs 7 oz. and is 19 inches long. He's got lots of dark hair and dark blue eyes.

Happy Birthday Eli

My little man is 3 years old. I can't believe it! He is such an amazing kid, we are so blessed to have him in our lives. We're constantly amazed at how quickly he learns and grows. He's such a character, he always keeps us laughing!!

We had a little family get-together for his B-day party. We BBQ'd, had cake and presents and Eli's favorite-a pinata.

The day after his party he wanted his red race car pinata back. Then I had to explain to him that we broke it to get all the candy out and that he could have one for his next birthday-that was a mistake! He's already started talking about his next birthday-it's going to be a long year!

After a few minutes of whacking on it he finally broke one of the bottom wheels off. After that a couple pieces of candy would fall out every time he hit it. So, then he had to stop, pick up the candy and put it back into the pinata-silly boy!!

Eli got to the point where he couldn't hold the bat up any longer so we let Kurt finish it off. As you can see, the candy flew everywhere!!

It took him a couple tries to get ALL 3 of the candles blown out-but he did it. Don't worry, there was only minimal droolage on the cake!

Spencer's hair is finally starting to grow back-very slowly. He hasn't cut it at all since he shaved it off last month.

I figured I better take at least one picture of me while I'm pregnant with baby #2. When I was pregnant with Eli I took a picture almost every month. But as most of you know, things get a little more crazy after you have kids and I haven't even had time to think about it. This is me at 37 weeks.

Little Artist

The other day Eli and I were wandering through Walmart, I was picking up some baby diapers-trying to get somewhat prepared for the new little one. Well, they have all their school supplies out so we picked up some kiddie scissors and watercolors. You would have thought it was Christmas the way Eli was so excited and worked up. We got home and he spent ALL day cutting and painting.
He's growing up too fast, I can't how big he looks in these pictures and to think he's going to be turning 3 in just a couple weeks, where does the time go?!?

Eli keeps me constantly going and the other day I just needed to lay down for a few minutes to rest so I told him to go to his room and play for a little bit. All of his toys were in his closet but instead of pulling them out to play with them he just went and sat in the closet and closed the door. A little while later I didn't hear him-and that makes me nervous- so I went to check on him and he had fallen asleep. He was sitting up holding his tractor and stuffed animal-I don't know how he falls asleep in these odd positions (He must have inherited that from his Grandpa Bob)!!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July!! Spencer only had to work a couple of hours in the morning so we spent most of the day with family. The weather was so great, Spencer took Eli in the pool with the other kids. He was really excited at first because he loves the water but as you can tell he wasn't really loving it today, there was too much splashing and it didn't help that Spencer just tossed him to begin with!!

After swimming we enjoyed the best part, the food!! We had tons of yummy food. Then the kids got to play with the sparklers and pop-its. This year Eli really got into the fireworks, he was so excited to play with them and was really looking forward to going to the park to see the BIG fireworks show. Unfortunately, we had such a busy day and he was sooo tired from being out in the sun that as soon as we got to the park and sat on the blanket he crashed-totally missing the entire show!! Oh well, there's always next year.

Bye Bye Hair

Sunday night Spencer did this! What more can I say?
He had just finished cutting Eli's hair when he took the clippers to his own head and got rid of the little hair he had. He's been saying for years that he's just going to shave it all off but I never believed that he would do it, well he proved me wrong. I was a little shocked at first, but like everything else, you just get used to it. The funniest part is that Spencer has these DEEP wrinkles on the crown of his head, (he wouldn't let me take a picture of them) we had to tease him that he was dropped on his head as a baby! LOL! Luckily, Spencer told me he'd grow his hair back out if Ididn't like it-We'll see what happens.

I just had to post these pictures of Eli. I don't know where he found these glasses, but I think they're hilarious, he reminds me of Harry Potter!

Water Fun

We happened to be over at Mom and Dads one day when they got their irrigation water. It covers the whole backyard. It was a beautiful day and the kids decided to make the most of it since the swimming pool hadn't been set up yet. Eli loved it!!! He was running back and forth chasing his aunts and uncles slipping and sliding along the way, he also loved throwing the lacrosse balls into the water and watching the splash.

We were done playing in the water (or so I thought) so we got Eli undressed so we could clean him up. When I went into the house to get him a towel this is what I came out to!!! He sat down on the back step and was splashing around with his feet, doesn't he have the cutest little bum!!

SPRING!!!!

Spring has finally arrived!! I don't think anyone is more excited than Eli. He wakes up and the first thing he wants to do is go outside and ride bikes or play with his little friends. He's been playing so hard that he crashes out about 6pm before we have a chance to eat dinner and he sleeps all through the night.

Last Monday we went to the park and played around. We took a couple baseball mitts and a ball. Eli was pumped up to play baseball but than he couldn't figure out which hand to catch with and which to throw with-he kept switching his mitt from hand to hand trying to get the hang of it.

This is my favorite picture of the night. We told Eli this was his last time down the slide because it was time to go home-as you can tell from the pouty face, he didn't like that idea.

Spencers been busy in the garden every night, trying to get all the boxes ready for planting. Eli loves to help him. I think he really just loves to play in the dirt and see how big of a mess he can make. He's been having to take a bath everynight because he's soooo dirty and stinky.

Oregon

Eli and I just got back from Oregon. It was my moms 50th Birthday, so we drove up and spent a week with the family. The drive took us about 11 hours each way. I am so lucky I have such an awesome little boy, he did soooo good on the drive.
It was really great to be able to spend time with my grandparents, aunts & uncles, and of course, my parents. While we were there Eli got SPOILED, and he loved it!!

We took Eli to the swimming pool where my brother works. Eli was a little hesitant to get in at first but then we couldn't get him to leave!

The weather was so great, we got to take the boat out on the lake one day, we were hoping Eli could go fishing, unfortunately there were no fish biting that day, but it was fun anyway.

We found these hockey sticks at a garage sale and my mom got them for Eli. He loved them!! He gave my dad a good workout!!

I tried to get a picture of Eli with my grandparents, of course, Eli couldn't stand still for 2 seconds. So this is the best one I got, as he's running away!!

Thank you to all our family who made our trip a great and memorable experience. We hope we can come and visit again soon, after the new baby is here. We love you all so much.

Happy Easter

We hope you all had a great Easter, we sure had a lot of fun! It all started Saturday morning, when Eli and I had to make a last minute trip to Walmart for some Easter supplies. They had a Bunny there that you could get your kids picture taken with-he was kind of a anorexic scary bunny though. Anyway, Eli thought it was so funny to walk by him and wave but everytime we got too close he panicked, like the bunny was going to get him!! It was so funny! Saturday afternoon we got to have a big Easter Egg Hunt and BBQ with the family. Eli got really excited about the Easter Egg Hunt and kept trying to go outside while all the big kids were hiding the candy. He did good at collecting treats-thats all he wanted to eat the rest of the night. On Sunday the Easter Bunny came and visited our house and brought Eli some new talking alphabet magnets and a new movie. We hid his basket and when he finally found it he said "oooohhhhh, cooooool!" After that he had to pretend he was the Easter Bunny and he hopped around everywhere thinking he was a bunny-lets just say it took us forever to get to church.

Ultrasound

I went and got my ultrasound done last Friday. Spencer came with me-it's the one Dr. appt. he agrees to go to. I was so excited to finally see the baby. The Dr. said everything looks healthy and great. The little one weighs 1 lb-it feels like a lot more!! We didn't find out the sex of the baby but Spencer thinks that he surely saw something in the Ultrasound and is positive its a boy, (He's going to have a huge surprise if it turns out to be a girl because ever since we found out we're having another baby he's been SOOO positive its a boy) I guess we'll see in a few more months!

Spring is Coming!!

I can't believe its been so long since I posted last. I really have been meaning to update but every day just seems to fly by and I sit down at the end of the night and think "Where did the day go?"
Spencer has started soccer, they have been practicing for the last couple of weeks and this Saturday is their first game. His season will last for the next 6 months-good thing we enjoy watching him! Eli is the funniest to watch at the games, he really gets into cheering and likes to kick the ball around with the guys sitting out on the sideline. He's like their little mascot!!
Suprise, suprise, Spencer has been getting off work early the last couple of days so we've been making the most of it because it doesn't happen very often. Monday we took Eli up to the aquarium, Spencer had never been up there, usually just Eli and I go during the day and walk around so it was great for Spencer to share that experience with Eli. The aquarium had recently opened up a new exhibit and Eli loved that because we hadn't seen any of those animals before, they had mini crocodiles, turtles, an anaconda, pirahnas, and other creepy frogs and spiders. The spiders were really freaking me out, because they were so big and so hairy, CREEPY!
Since Spencers been getting off early we've also been doing a ton of work in the yard just trying to get ready for Spring and Summer. The weather has been so nice we are trying to take advantage and spend as much time outside as we can. As soon as Eli wakes up in the morning he's wanting to go outside, he's been frustarated this whole winter having to be cooped up in the house all the time and now he's loving life, he can spend all day outside. I just hope the weather holds up for a while longer, no doubt it will snow again but we are going to enjoy the sun while we can.

Little Baby Zaugg

We got to go and visit Aleisha and Tyler and their newest addition. He is so adorable!!! Eli was very excited to hold his new little cousin, and he did very well with him. He kept patting his head and even gave him a few kisses. When we went to leave he asked if the baby could come home with us!! It looks like he's going to be a great older brother!

I'm Pregnant!! Baby #2 is due August 10th , we are so excited. It will be so good for Eli to have a sibling. I am 14 weeks along at this moment and I have had 2 DR. Appts already. At the first appt. they did an ultrasound, I guess to check how far along I was. At the second appt. they checked the heart beat. So far everything has been going smoothly, I didn't get any morning sickness, YEA!! On the downside, I have had alot of trouble sleeping, however I would rather be tired all the time than sick, so I'll take it. Like with Eli we won't be finding out the sex of our baby with the ultrasound, we love to be surprised when the baby comes. It gives me a little something extra to look forward to!

Haircut/Lacrosse

Eli just got his hair cut this last weekend, it was getting sooo long, as you can see below, every morning when he woke up it was hilarious because it was spiked and just sticking up everywhere and in every direction (he looked just like his dad when he wakes up to go to work!!!) So we finally shaved it, he threw a huge fit when we were cutting it because he kept drooling down his chest and then the hair would stick to his chest and make him itch and he also kept rubbing his hands over his face and getting more hair in his mouth and eyes, poor kid was stuggling!!! Afterward he got to take a bath in grandmas giant jacuzzi tub and he was all better :-)

Since its so cold here Eli has been stuck having to play inside alot, so he's been really into his basketball hoop and his lacrosse stick. This is Eli playing Lacrosse, his uncle Kurt got him this really nice mini lacrosse stick last christmas and he loves to pretend he's just like his uncles. Whenever he plays he always says "I'm Kurt" or "I'm Troy" He's enjoys watching both Kurt and Troy play in their lacrosse games and he loves picking them out of the other players on the field, surprisingly, he always knows which one they are even though they have their helmets on.

Eli Loves his uncles and they are so so awesome with him, we're very lucky to have such great role models for Eli !!!

Grandma & Grandpa

My mom and dad came and visited for the weekend. Time seemed to fly by way too fast, I can't believe they're already gone, soooo sad!!! We had alot of fun while they were here, Spencer and my dad got to go to a Jazz game, we also took Eli to Cabelas and the aquarium. He loved running around looking at all the animals and the huge fish they have at Cabelas. Eli loves it when grandma and grandpa come to visit, he gets spoiled with lots of attention and lots of new clothes!! His favorite was to make grandpa Jim watch him play basketball.
Eli was so cute when we had to take grandma and grandpa to the airport. He made sure before we left that his backpack was in the car, he was prepared. However, when we got to the airport he soon realized he wasn't going to go with them on the airplane. He was so sad that he didn't get to go AND grandma and grandpa were leaving, poor kid!!
We're so thankful that we got a few days with my mom and dad, it was so great to see them and spend some time together, We Love You!!

New Years Eve Party

We had a great New Years Eve Party. The whole family got together and did homeade pizza and movies. Eli had a blast of course. We discovered that he loves to eat the pizza dough, as you can see!!! The little man was running around crazy all night, he almost made it to midnight but finally fell asleep on the floor watching the movie. He was so funny the next morning, he woke up and came into my room and the first thing he said was "Party over" in a sad little voice, it was so cute. The little Party Animal!!! We hope you're having as great of a new year as we are. We have been lucky enough that Spencer is still busy at work, another bonus is Eli is completely potty trained and finally recovered from his little surgery. Also we are looking forward to a visit from my parents this weekend!!!!

Surgery

Eli's surgery was today and it went really well. He never cried the whole day! He went with the Dr. into the surgery room easily and when he woke up from the surgery he wanted to cuddle but that was it. As soon as we got home, he saw all of his Christmas toys and wanted to play with them, he was running, jumping and bouncing off the walls as usual. He was also wanting to eat as soon as we got home. So it seems the surgery hasn't affected him at all!!!!

Christmas

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! Ours was awesome, full of family, food and fun!! Eli's Grandma made him some special green monkey pj's for Christmas Eve. He loves them, he thinks the monkeys look like Curious George. Christmas morning we spent at our own home and let Eli open all his presents then soon after went over to Spencer's Parents house and gathered with all of his brothers and sisters to open more gifts!!! We stayed over there most of the day and enjoyed each others company. Spencer had a blast making a huge sledding hill in the backyard with his brothers, it ended up being about a 6.5 foot tall hill, Eli was scared to death to go down it, but he did it once with his Dad. Eli really enjoyed opening all of his presents, he got a lot of cars, some new books and puzzles, and bath toys. SPOILED!!!!!!!!

Recent Events

We just went and saw Eli's Ear Dr. last week because his right ear drum ruptured again! They decided we should put in ear tubes again and try avoid permanent damage. They will also take out his adnoids, they think that might be contributing to the problem. He will have his surgery the day after Christmas. It should take about 3 days to recover. Because of the adnoid removal he will have bad breath for a few weeks but I'll take that over the ear infections any day!! Poor kid has had a rough year. After his recent Emergency Room visit on Thanksgiving day when he split his head open on the fireplace. Here are some pictures right after it happened........

I hope everyone is having a great Holiday Season. We are still trying to get ready for Christmas here, I have a ton of shopping left to do. I hoping to get it done today but it's snowing pretty good, more to add to our 4-5 inches we already have. Eli loves the snow (until he gets too cold) He asks his dad every night if they can go sledding. They just go in the driveway but its a good slope and its a solid sheet of ice so he gets going pretty fast, it sometimes scares me. But he just keeps laughing and asks "Again, Again" Eli has no fear of anything!!
